Julie A. Welch (Runtz), CPA, CFP

Julie A. Welch (Runtz), CPA, CFP, (julie@meara.com), a certified public accountant and a partner/shareholder with the firm, is the Director of the firm’s tax department. She joined the firm in 1981 upon graduation from William Jewell College with a B.S. in accounting and business administration. In 1987 she obtained a graduate degree in taxation from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She is the co-author of 101 Tax Saving Ideas. She has also written articles for several publications, including the Practical Accountant and Quick$ense, and has presented tax planning seminars to various groups. Currently, she serves as a discussion leader for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ National Tax Education Program and is chairperson of the taxation committee of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants.
