John W. Meara, CPA, ABV, CFE, CFF

John W. Meara, CPA, ABV, CFE, CFF, (john@meara.com), a certified public accountant, accredited in business valuation and a certified fraud examiner, provides overall direction for the firm’s auditing, business valuation and litigation support services, and provides general business consulting services. Prior to becoming a partner/shareholder with Meara, King & Co., John operated John W. Meara & Co., since 1977. His experience also includes positions as a tax manager with Price Waterhouse, and subsequently a partner and Director of Tax Services in the Kansas City office of Laventhol & Horwath. He earned his bachelor of science in accounting from the University of Illinois and attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City Law School. He has served as an instructor through the Graduate School of Financial Studies of the American College and has lectured on the subject of advanced tax planning for the Graduate School of Administration at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. In addition, he has presented numerous programs on business and tax matters to a wide variety of business, professional and private organizations. He also provides expert witness testimony on accounting, valuation and fraud issues.
